This is beautiful! Perfect endings are a go.
It looks that way to me, because Garry is through the painting and holding the handkerchief, it looks as though he's grieving over the fact that Ib hasn't come with him to the real art exhibit.
On the other hand though, this is a very pretty picture. I really like it. You've done a great job on it.
